In New York there are many content creators who stem from very different backgrounds. Julian is one of them, having a passion for creating content and film. His early college days contributed to him creating skits and vlogs on YouTube. Julian is a member of " The Dreamers House" in New York which serves the first content creator house for people who love creating content of any kind. They feature plenty of known artists and even TikTok personalities like Buddy the Rat and Ferris Wheel Jay known as the creator of the content house. This space was also created as a place to create content, network, perform, and create many types of content including for sponsors.

We interviewed Julian Mejia about his journey that led him towards working with top content creators and artists.

What category would you say you would be as a creator?

I am in the field of content creation and film! Personally, I consider myself to be more of a video producer than a content creator, but I surround myself with a lot of content creators.

What started your interest in what you do? How did you discover your passion and how long have you been doing what you are doing?

I must’ve been in high school when I discovered YouTube and fell in love with content creation ever since. I remember I used to tell people that I wanted to be a YouTuber and it was a DREAM of mine! I used to make vlogs in my early college days and even skit videos with friends, roughly about 8 years ago. 2 years ago, that passion was reignited when I started getting into TikTok and met all the wonderful people at The Dreamers House.

What is a piece of advice you would give to others interested in what you do?

Never give up. Keep pushing, keep learning, and keep doing what makes you happy. The struggle is a large part of the journey, and it is the one part that will help you realize that it is all worth it. Take that leap of faith!

What would you be doing if you weren't doing what you are now? Honestly, that’s a great question! I would probably be stuck working a boring office job or going back to school to get a degree in another field to get a decent job.

What was your favorite piece to create or do?

I absolutely loved creating advertisements and learning about what goes into an ad or how I could think outside the box to create an ad by myself.

What do you do when your feel stuck?

Initially, I cry ha-ha. I am a very emotional person. But in all seriousness, I look for inspiration. I’ll watch old videos of mine to really remind myself of how far I’ve come and remind myself of all the great things I’ve accomplished to help me get back up and continue on this journey.

What inspires you?

Living. The sole purpose of being alive and having so many experiences with so many different people. I love life and I can’t get enough of it. Why not see and experience what life is like for others and really take it all in.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?

I hope to one day start my own video production business and lead my own team of people to create content for those who want it.

What do you hope others can take away from what you do?

I hope they can see that it is possible to make your dreams come true through hard work, perseverance, and dedication to the craft. I made a promise to myself to never look back and settle for less, and I’ve been so much happier ever since.
