American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson just released his new book "Starry Messenger: Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization" and it is one you won't want to miss out on purchasing soon! The astrophysicist made an appearance at Lehman College in New York where he discussed the contents of his new book including topics like gender, law, and order as well as meatarians and vegetarians amongst other topics. The author even made remarks about his thoughts and findings surrounding life on other planets, Tyson touched upon the idea of photosynthesizing aliens who use the sun as a source of food.

The astrophysicist was excited to be back in his hometown, The Bronx where he discovered his passion for science at the age of 8 years old as mentioned at the event. Tyson attended the Kingsbridge Academy: Middle School in the Bronx during his early childhood where he discovered his love for the stars during a field trip to the 'Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Natural History '. Many audience members congratulated and thanked the astrophysicist for being an inspiration and role model to many children and adults who enjoy learning about science. They noted how fun he has made the sciences for children and adults through the decades. Tyson added he named the book "Starry Messenger" after Galileo Galilei's book, "Sidereus Nuncius" paying homage to the famous astronomer.

Neil deGrasse Tyson ended the night by answering a variety of questions from discovering life on other planets to discussing the James Webb Space Telescope and how it can be used to measure gases and potential life on other planets. An audience member asked about the influence of psychedelics on the brain and he noted how you might just be better off without them. We are so excited to read this book and get a look into the cosmic perspectives on our civilization according to Neil deGrasse Tyson. Make sure to get your hands on his book, now available at Barnes and Noble, and support this scientific icon on the release of the new book!
